There are three methods to weld stainless steel pipe, manual metal arc welding, metal active gas welding and tungsten inert gas welding.
1.MMA(Manual Metal Arc)
MMA is a welding technology that is very common and easy to use. The length of the arc depends on the human hand adjustment. And it also decides by the crack size between welding electrode and work. At the same time, when act as the arc carrier, welding electrode is also the filling stuff of welding lines. This kind of welding method is simple and can be used to weld all materials. As for outdoor use, it has good adaptation. Thus it can work even under the water. In this welding technology, human hands decide the length of the arc. When you change the gap between electrode and work, you change the length of the arc as well. On mast occasions, welding uses direct current. And electrode as the carrier of the arc and the filling material of the welding line as well. Electrode consists of alloy or non-alloy mental core wire and welding coating which protects welding line from the abusing of the air and stabilize the arc. It also causes the rising of slag cover to protect welding line which makes it mould. Welding electrode can be either titanium welding rod or alkaline, which depends on the thickness and ingredient of the coating. And titanium welding is easy to weld, flat and pretty welding lines, easy to eliminate the welding slag. If store welding rod for a long time, it is needed to bake again for tidal air will assemble in the welding rod.
2.MAG (Metal Active Gas)
This is an automatic gas shield arc welding method. Arc will heat stably under the protection of the gas shield between electricity carrier metal wire and work. Metal wire sent by machine will melt under self-arc as welding rod. Because the MAG welding method has merits of commonality as well as specificity, it is still the most widely used welding method all over the world. It applies to materials based on API steel pipe, non-alloy steel, low alloy steel and high alloy black steel pipe, which makes it become the perfect welding method for production and repairmen. When weld steel in the welded steel pipe, MAG can meet the requirements of thin standard steel plate. The shield gas used here is active gas such as carbon dioxide or mixed gas.
3.TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)
Arc produced between dyslectic tungsten electrode wire and production. The gas it uses is pure argon. And the input welding wire is dead, so it can be sent by either man hands or machine. And there are some special applications that do not need to send welding wire. Welded materials decide to use direct current or alternating current. When adopt direct current, tungsten electrode wire is set as cathode because of its strong complete penetration ability. And it is suitable for all kinds of steel such as welded steel pipe, stainless steel pipe and so on. However, it has no clean function on weld pool.
