The application of black steel pipe
Black steel pipe has a high strength. It is ideally used to transport water and gas in rural and urban areas and for conduits that protect electrical wiring and for delivering high pressure steam and air. It is also widely used in the oil and petroleum industries. It can  move large quantities of oil through remote areas. Black steel pipe is maintenance free, so it is very economy, you do not need to use a lot of labor and money to maintain them. Steel black pipe are aso applied in other area  including gas distribution inside and outside homes, water wells and sewage systems. 

Modern techniques to improve the quality of the black steel pipe 
The butt-weld pipe making method which is invented by Whitehouse has greatly improved with the scientific advancement . Now, we still use the method to make pipe. However, the pipe making will more and more efficient with the modern manufacturing equipment that can produce extremely high temperatures and pressure. According  to the diameter of the pipe, some processes can produce welded seam pipe at the incredible rate of 1,100 feet per minute. It increases the production of steel pipes tremendously,but also improve the quality of the final product.

Quality control for the pipe making
The requirement for quality control increase with the the development of modern manufacturing equipment and inventions in electronics. Special X-ray gauges is uesed in modern manufacturers which can ensure uniformity in wall thickness. And the water test machine is employed in the test of the strength of the pipe. The machine fills the pipe with water under high pressure, if the pipe is hold, it is past the test, if not the pipe are scrapped.
