Different Functions of Black Steel Pipe and PVC Pipe

You can find the different functions of black steel pipe and PVC pipe here. PVC is the logogram of polyvinylchloride, the main ingredient is polyvinylchloride. PVC pipe is made of PVC resin and stabilizers, lubricants, etc. to entrust mold after hot press. Its function is very different with black steel pipe in the following aspects.

1. Black steel pipe diameter .The inside diameter of black steel pipe is constant, while the outside diameter of PVC black steel pipe is constant.
2. Single black steel pipe's length. The black steel pipe's standard length is 12m, compared with PVC pipe, the number of interfaces is one time less in a unit laying length. The standard length of PVC pipe is 6m, the number of interfaces is one time more than black steel pipe's standard length in a unit laying length.
3. Intensity. The black steel pipe's intensity is high, it can be as high as 300Mpa, black steel pipeline's loop and axial intensity can be designed, so it can meet the requirements of geographical and overhead and other installations. The PVC pipe's intensity is low, it is just 42Mpa, pipeline's loop and axial intensity are the same, and it can't be designed by needs.
4. Modulo. The model of black steel pipe is more than 25Gpa, the model of PVC pipe is just 3Gps.
5. Design ability. The black steel pipe can have structure designed by the needs of internal pressure, outer pressure and overhead requirements. The PVC pipe can't be designed.
6. Impact resistance. The black steel pipe is made of strong steel; its excellent structure has high modulus of elasticity, so the black steel pipe has strong resistance to external shocks. PVC pipe is made of a thermoplastic resin, the modulus of elasticity is low, so the PVC pipe has week resistance to external shocks.
7. Creep properties. When the material received a constant load，it will generate deformation, and deformation increases with time increasing, this is materials' creep properties. All the polymer materials have different degrees of creep properties, while in the black steel, since the introduction of special elements which greatly improves the black steel production's creep properties, coupled with the black steel pipe's peculiar laminate structure; this makes the black steel pipe's creep almost negligible. There is a large long-term creep in the PVC pipe, after long use, the strength retention rate is low.
8. Corrosion resistance. We can accord the different transmission medium in the black steel pipelines to choose different steel pipes that has different corrosion resistance and structures to meet the requirements. The PVC black steel pipe materials can't be designed, it just suitable for special corrosive medium.
9. Safety margin. The black steel pipe's safety margin is high, its strength safety coefficient is bigger than 6, it can be used in extreme complex conditions. The PVC pipeline's safety margin is low and less than 4.
10. Aging resistance. The black steel pipeline' surface uses the UV protection absorbers, the thickness of the outermost is as thick as 2mm, through the aging test, and its anti-aging is 50 years. The PVC pipeline can't add any additive to prevent aging, this can be verified on plastic products, and it's difficult to have non aging plastic products.
